Allen Organ Studio of Augusta
begins with the story of Allen Organ Company
Allen Organ Company originated in Allentown, Pa. in 1939. The first instruments were custom built and the purchase of a new organ was handled directly by factory representatives. Allen Organ Company
is now headquartered in Macungie, Pa.
By the 1950s
Business had grown to the point that the Atlanta Rich’s Department Store became host to one of the nation’s first Allen Organ Company regional showrooms.
1956
Business continued to grow in Georgia, and Mr. Bill Wooten eagerly accepted an invitation from the Allen Organ Company to represent the company in the Augusta-Aiken area through Wooten Music Company. Old-timers will remember the store on Walton Way.
August 1983
Jim Ingram, who had been associated with Allen Organ Company beginning in 1969, began assembling a team in Atlanta that would set standards for Allen Organ Company sales and service, operating as Allen Organ Studios Inc. Under Mr. Ingram’s leadership Allen Organ Studios Inc. grew to encompass not only Atlanta, but Chattanooga, Tenn. and the Augusta-Aiken area.
Accomplishments included the prestigious Jerome Markowitz Award, two-time recipient of the President’s Award, the first winner of the Four Star Award and countless product goal awards.
In 2008
Allen Organ Studio of Augusta was
born in order to concentrate on an even higher standard of customer service
and sales in the Augusta-Aiken area when Brad Cunningham was engaged to
apprentice under Mr. Ingram.
Mr. Cunningham took over day-to-day
operations of Allen Organ Studio of Augusta as president and CEO on Jan.
1, 2015 with the technical and consulting expertise of Jim Ingram, who
continues in partnership as the certified Allen organ technician for Augusta-Aiken.
